The armor points towards enemies
Just a quick speed paint without much thought for composition. No the armor doesn't make sense. Yes his shoulders are hilariously narrow. No, he is probably not adjusting himself.

Kitty-Themed Marker Practice
I got a gift certificate to a local art supply store for Christmas, and I decided to buy a Copic marker as my first investment. I still have no idea how to use them, so here are some practice images.
Also! In an effort to make this blog less sterile I'm going to try to post some images I like in the interim so it isn't just entry after entry of tiny thumbnail dumps.

I spent a lot of time this week doing stream of consciousness musings on how clouds are affected by light and color, a lot of it likely very misguided. Storm clouds in particular are an interesting subject, because their hues are impacted by so many different factors. Things like altitude, sunlight, density, and ambient background sky color make them solid-seeming objects that appear to constantly make up new rules for how they treat light.
Also, I'm lowering the cost of commissions! It's now $20 for a single character illustration w/simple background. I'm still trying to figure out an economical price point that is also worthwhile to me, so we'll see how this works out.
Anyway, see you next week.
